Entrevista con el Vampiro - COMENTARIO (Interview with the Vampire - COMMENTARY)

¿Qué tan deseable puede ser para el ser humano llegar a ser inmortal? Y si hubiese la posibilidad, ¿A qué costo podría conseguirlo? •••

—¿Lo extraña? —preguntó luego en voz baja.

—Realmente no —dijo el vampiro—. Hay tantas otras cosas... Pero, ¿en qué estábamos? ¿Quieres saber cómo sucedió, cómo me convertí en vampiro?

—Sí —dijo el joven—. ¿Cómo fue el cambio, exactamente?

—No te lo puedo contar tal cual fue —dijo el vampiro—. Te lo puedo relatar con palabras que harán evidente para ti el valor que tiene para mí. Pero no te lo puedo contar con exactitud, del mismo modo que no podría contarte la experiencia del sexo si nunca la has tenido.

La sangre manó sobre su camisa, por el abrigo. Manó como jamás podría haberlo hecho de un ser humano; toda la sangre con que se había alimentado antes del niño y la del niño; y movía la cabeza haciendo un sonido burbujeante. Ella le hundió el cuchillo en el pecho y él se agachó hacia adelante, con la boca abierta, sus colmillos al descubierto, las dos manos tratando, convulsivas, de asir el cuchillo, revoloteando alrededor del mango. Levantó la vista hasta mí, con el pelo sobre los ojos.

Esta es mi segunda novela que leo que está relacionada con vampiros; la primera fue Crepúsculo de Stephenie Meyer que leí aproximadamente en el 2007, pero que, comparada con la anterior, siento que esta posee mayor valor literario, artístico, poético y orientada a un público mucho más adulto. •••

 

Una historia que, a al mismo tiempo, narra otra historia, en la que un reportero decide, en una noche, entrevistar a Louis de Pointe du Lac quien afirma ser un vampiro, para que éste le cuente todas las vivencias por las que ha atravesado a lo largo de su extensa vida como vampiro. •••

 

La narración de esta novela es realmente fascinante, exquisita, poética, el lector se deleita con cada página, con cada párrafo, con cada línea que va diciendo Louis de una forma tan sosegada, tranquila, serena, pero simultáneamente, llena de pasión y sentimiento, le cuenta con gran meticulosidad al reportero cada momento de su vida desde poco antes de que fuese convertido en un vampiro. Evidentemente, el reportero emplea mucho más que una cinta del magnetófono; son muchos años de historia. •••

 

Una gran opción altamente recomendada para los amantes de este género, que para mi, es casi que un clásico, donde se mezcla la pasión, el sentimiento, la intriga, la sensualidad, el terror, en medio de una Nueva Orleans desde finales del siglo XVIII, lúgubre, oscura y a merced de estos seres. •••

 

Finalmente, existe también una película lanzada a finales de los 90 que lleva el mismo nombre, donde el protagonista, Brad Pitt (Louis de Pointe du Lac) pudo recrear a la más mínima perfección cada gesto, cada sentimiento del Louis descrito por Anne Rice en su novela. •••

-I can't tell you the way it was," said the vampire. I can tell it to you in words that will make it clear to you how valuable it is to me. But I cannot tell you exactly, just as I could not tell you the experience of sex if you have never had it.

He looked up to me, his hair over his eyes.

This is my second novel that I read that is related to vampires; the first was Twilight by Stephenie Meyer that I read in about 2007, but compared to the previous one, I feel that this one has more literary, artistic, poetic value and oriented to a much more adult audience. •••

A story that, at the same time, tells another story, in which a reporter decides, one night, to interview Louis de Pointe du Lac, who claims to be a vampire, so that he can tell him all the experiences he has gone through during his long life as a vampire. •••

The narration of this novel is really fascinating, exquisite, poetic, the reader is delighted with each page, with each paragraph, with each line that Louis says in such a calm, quiet, serene way, but simultaneously, full of passion and feeling, he tells with great meticulousness to the reporter every moment of his life since shortly before he was turned into a vampire. Evidently, the reporter uses much more than a tape from the tape recorder; it is many years of history. •••

A great option highly recommended for lovers of this genre, which for me, is almost a classic, where passion, feeling, intrigue, sensuality, terror, in the midst of a New Orleans from the late eighteenth century, gloomy, dark and at the mercy of these beings. •••

Finally, there is also a movie released at the end of the 90s bearing the same name, where the protagonist, Brad Pitt (Louis de Pointe du Lac) was able to recreate to perfection every gesture, every feeling of the Louis described by Anne Rice in her novel. •••
