¿Qué pasaría si un día Dios te enviara una invitación para que te reunieses con Él en una cabaña? ¿Irías?

-Mackenzie, no soy hombre ni mujer, aunque ambos géneros se derivan de mi naturaleza. Si decido aparecer ante ti, ya sea como hombre o como mujer, es porque te amo. Para mí aparecer ante ti como mujer y pedirte que me llames Papá es simplemente una combinación de metáforas para que no te protejas en tus condicionamientos religiosos —se inclinó hacia él como si fuera a compartir un secreto—. Si me revelara ante ti como un grandioso abuelo de barba suelta y raza blanca, como Gandalf, sencillamente reforzaría tus estereotipos religiosos, y este fin de semana no es para reforzar estereotipos.

(CAPÍTULO 6: UNA PIEZA π).

Este es uno de los pocos libros que he leído en mi vida en el cual para mí es algo complejo intentar escribir un comentario personal, porque siento que EL VIAJE POR ESTAS PÁGINAS ES COMPLETAMENTE PERSONAL Y ÚNICO.

No es simplemente un relato o una novela más. Es una historia que, sin quererlo, se mezclará con tu historia personal de vida; sentirás que eres tú mismo quien está caminando por esas líneas de la trama. Tal vez por eso siento que la experiencia es [literalmente] personal.

Sin embargo, no quisiera dejar pasar la oportunidad en, primeramente, comentar que NO ES UN LIBRO DE RELIGIÓN NI TEOLOGÍA, ni nada por el estilo; es la narración del encuentro personal que Mackenzie Allen Phillips (Mack) tiene con Papá (Dios) a raíz de un terrible acontecimiento en su familia, a la cual él mismo ha llamado “La Gran Tristeza”.

Aquellos que somos cristianos (indistintamente católicos o evangélicos) hemos aprendido [y vivido] que Dios se expresa, se manifiesta y se comunica con nosotros de innumerables maneras; y no con todos lo hace de la misma manera. En este caso particular, Mack recibe una carta de Dios queriendo reunirse con él en la cabaña que dio origen a “La Gran Tristeza”. Es ahí donde Papá (Dios), Jesús y Sarayu (el Espíritu Santo) se encontrarán con el corazón destrozado y dolido de Mackenzie.

Una historia de amor, perdón, reconciliación, esperanza, sanación ante la pérdida de un ser amado. 

Personalmente, desearía poder regalar miles de este libro a todas las personas a quienes quiero y amo, así como mi ex-alumna y amiga Gloria Madeleine Chacón lo hizo conmigo, para todos puedan vivir lo que yo viví con la lectura de estas páginas: risa, dolor, llanto, nostalgia, gozo, felicidad, esperanza, fe… y me quedo corto con esto.

Simplemente, léelo.

Calificación Personal: 10 de 10 puntos (¡GRANDIOSA!).

What if one day God sent you an invitation to join Him in a shack? Would you go?

-Mackenzie, I am neither male nor female, although both genders are derived from my nature. If I choose to appear before you as either male or female, it is because I love you. For me to appear before you as a woman and ask you to call me Dad is simply a combination of metaphors so that you do not shield yourself in your religious conditioning," she leaned toward him as if to share a secret. If I were to reveal myself to you as a great, white, bearded, white grandfather like Gandalf, it would simply reinforce your religious stereotypes, and this weekend is not for reinforcing stereotypes.

(CHAPTER 6: A PIECE π).

This is one of the few books I have ever read in my life in which for me it is somewhat complex to try to write a personal commentary, because I feel that THE JOURNEY THROUGH THESE PAGES IS COMPLETELY PERSONAL AND UNIQUE.

It is not just another story or novel. It is a story that will unwittingly blend in with your personal life story; you will feel like it is you yourself who is walking those plot lines. Perhaps that's why I feel the experience is [literally] personal.

However, I would not want to pass up the opportunity to, first of all, comment that it is NOT A BOOK OF RELIGION OR THEOLOGY, or anything of the sort; it is the account of Mackenzie Allen Phillips' (Mack) personal encounter with Dad (God) following a terrible event in his family, which he himself has called "The Great Sadness".

Those of us who are Christians (indistinctly Catholic or Evangelical) have learned [and lived] that God expresses Himself, manifests Himself and communicates with us in innumerable ways; and not with everyone in the same way. In this particular case, Mack receives a letter from God wanting to meet him in the shack that gave rise to "The Great Sadness". It is there that Papa (God), Jesus and Sarayu (the Holy Spirit) will meet Mackenzie's broken and hurting heart.

A story of love, forgiveness, reconciliation, hope, healing from the loss of a loved one. 

Personally, I wish I could give thousands of this book to everyone I love and cherish, just as my student and friend Gloria Madeleine Chacon did for me, so that everyone can experience what I experienced by reading these pages: laughter, pain, tears, nostalgia, joy, happiness, hope, faith... and that's an understatement.

Just read it.
